Medical Services

Newly Registered Patients

When you register you will be invited to attend for a medical within three months of joining the practice. This is essential as it provides us with important information prior to the arrival of your medical records, which can take some time.

Cervical Screening

These clinics are run by the nurses and are by appointment.

Family Planning

A full range of contraceptive services is now offered by the practice, including coil and diaphragm fittings.

Diabetic, Weight, Asthma And Smoking Cessation Clinics

These are run by nurses and health care assistants in conjunction with the doctors. Please ask your doctor if you think you may be eligible.

Child Health And Immunisation

Babies and pre-school age children can be immunised at both surgeries; please telephone for an appointment with the practice nurse. Please do not bring an ill child to these sessions to see the doctor, as other children might be put at risk. If the clinic times are very inconvenient, immunisations can be given at other times by your doctor by appointment. We prefer all our children to be vaccinated at the surgeries to help maintain continuity of care and also enable records to be kept of any problems which may arise.

Maternity

Antenatal and postnatal care is carried out by both the doctors and the midwives by appointment. The midwives run a clinic on Tuesday afternoons at Westerham and Wednesday mornings at Sundridge.

Minor Surgery

Most of the doctors are able to perform small surgical operations at the main surgeries, although they may ask you to see another partner for certain operations. Please discuss this with your doctor.

Non-NHS Examinations

Medical examinations for special purposes, eg life insurance, school entrance, elderly drivers, pre-employment, fitness to undertake sports, fitness to travel etc are undertaken at all the surgeries. When you book your appointment, please tell the receptionist the type of medical you require. A fee is payable for all non NHS examinations. The receptionist can advise on this.

Travel Vaccinations

The practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and to vaccinate where appropriate. It should be noted that not all travel vaccinations are free within the NHS; travellers should be prepared to purchase the protection required against conditions that do not occur in the UK. The rate currently advised by the BMA will be payable on attendance.
